10 Alternative Workout Songs For This Spring

10 Alternative Songs For This Spring

Spring is here and the weather is becoming perfect for going out jogging and doing other such activities again. My family and I played basketball all weekend. It’s so refreshing to be able to get out of the house without feeling like I’m going to turn into an ice cube. In celebration, I created a playlist of 10 alternative songs to workout to this Spring.

The Walker by Fitz and The Tantrums

This is one of my current favorites. With the whistling and upbeat attitude, it practically screams at you to get up and move it. I was mentally playing it in my head as I took a jog on the beach the other day. And even if you don’t work out to it, it’s just a really fun and happy song.

Take a Walk by Passion Pit

This one is along similar lines when it comes to the topic. Pretty much, this poor guy doesn’t have much good going on in his life so he took a walk. But he sings it in such a way that it makes you want to get out of the house and walk to leave your troubles behind.

Heads Will Roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Then we take a turn in the opposite direction. This is an older song, but I rather like it. After all, heads will roll if you dance till your dead. Not to mention, if you’re a lover of Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass you might be a quick fan of the lyrics.

Stompa by Serena Ryder

This one is fun too. She pretty much tells you that you have to get up on your feet and move. It won’t take long before you’re up and stomping your feet.

My Body by Young the Giant

This song just sounds so happy. It really makes me think of spring or summer and gives me the desire to get outside and breathe it all in. Even if you don’t move to it (though I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to), you’ll get outside. Perhaps it’ll get you through putting your running shoes on?

Don’t Stop (Color on the Walls) by Foster the People

I personally think this one speaks for itself. Don’t stop!

Limb From Limb by Vanity Theft

This one gets me pumped. While it’s not necessarily about moving or anything, it’s a boost of confidence that can easily get you up and at ’em.

Just A Little Bit by Kids of 88

Everything about this song says to get up and move. From the beat of the song to the speed of the lyrics. If you don’t want to move during it, I’ll honestly be shocked.

Headphones by Little Boots

Are you ready to go to the disco? This song is all about dancing and not caring what the people around you think. Besides, if you like easy to sing choruses, this is definitely the song for you.

Call 911 by Florrie

There are several remixes of this one, so I don’t think it should be too hard to figure out which one works best for you. This is about being on the run and is sure to get you moving. Just pretend you really are on the run and you’ve got this.

Hey Hey (Vampires and Cheerleaders Mix) and Rock What You Got by Superchick. Fuego by Bond. Come Out and Play by the Offspring. Thanks for your suggestions – I’m always looking for good workout music. Stopping by from SITS to say hi!

Great song choices! I love Superchick. And the Vampires and Cheerleaders mix of Hey Hey is the BEST. I need to look up Fuego and Come Out and Play, though. Thanks for suggesting them!
